About

Therapy Grounded in Understanding & Change

Dr. Alek K. Davila is a licensed psychologist in private practice, providing psychotherapy to adolescents and adults in Massachusetts, New York, and Washington, D.C. He earned his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Boston College and completed his predoctoral clinical training in the child/adolescent and adult outpatient psychiatric departments at CHA/Harvard Medical School. He went on to complete his postdoctoral training at the Center for Anxiety in Boston. Dr. Davila integrates psychodynamic, relational, attachment-based, and third-wave cognitive-behavioral approaches in his work. He treats anxiety disorders, mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, trauma-related concerns, and difficulties related to relationships and life transitions. His work is grounded in careful assessment, collaborative formulation, and an individualized treatment process. He places strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and works to create a space that is thoughtful, supportive, and emotionally attuned. Through this collaborative process, he helps patients develop insight into underlying patterns while also building practical strategies to manage symptoms and improve day-to-day functioning. Outside of his clinical work, Dr. Davila enjoys playing tennis, spending time with family, and exploring new restaurants.
